Update: After bringing the vehicle to another service shop, the new mechanic discovered a few things that magically happened during the magical/imaginary wreck that the Meineke owner/manager claimed to have happened. The radiator grommet, which comes with a new radiator, was never installed (must have vaporized during the supposed wreck). The two fans were never clipped onto the radiator. And lastly the transmission cooler was not bracketed.
Now, last Monday night, mid-March 2016, vehicle overheated while my wife was driving home with our children. I get there and see the same EXACT problem that we brought the vehicle into Meineke in December. Midway down and across the radiator, saturated in coolant. Fill it up and take it home. All week, the vehicle sat under the carport, dripping fluid. I bring it back to Meineke in Pineville la and the manager/owner accused my wife of getting into a wreck between December when she brought it in and now. He claimed that the vehicle wrecked and caused the oil cooler to hit the Ac condenser (turns out to actually be a transmission cooler) and the transmission cooler rubbed a hole into radiator. Funny thing is that the unknown wreck caused the oil cooler to MAGICALLY straightened back up and away from the transmission cooler AND caused absolutely NO NEW DAMAGE TO THE BUSTED BUMPER! !!!!! Upon asking my wife of this unknown, but magical wreck that supposedly happened in the last four months, that caused the exact issue that we brought it to meineke to fix in December (see what I did there!?! Lol) my wife called it bull. Since their warranty program runs on blaming and bullshit speculation I will do the same. The most probable cause was that the person forgot to bolt down/rivet the transmission cooler, causing it to rub a hole into the radiator, not a magical and imaginary wreck that never happened and defies the laws of physics.... PLEASE DON'T GO TO MEINEKE IN PINEVILLE LA
Called up there in regards to a flex pipe. You be the judge and tell me how much sense this makes. 125 dollars for the flex pipe and labor; however, I'm able to provide the needed part, the cost? 100 dollars. Please tell me where you found this part for 25 dollars. The guy sounded like he was coughing up numbers and making it up as he went along. Guess who isn't going there!? This guy!
Good and honest place to get your car fixed.
Excellent
Two or three years ago my wife rear ended a vehicle. We brought the vehicle into a collision shop and had repairs made to the radiator, front bumper, and oil cooler. They bent the radiator and cooler back into shape the best they could and patched up the bumper with screws. Now you have an idea of what condition our vehicle was in when we brought it to Meineke in Pineville La two or three years after the wreck. Fast forward to last April (2015), we had Meineke in Pineville La change the vehicle's radiator and fix another issue (water leaking onto the passenger floor board). Couple of days later we pick it up. On our way home the leak on the floor board was still leaking, but the radiator seemed to be going good. Last December (2015), 7 and a half months after the radiator was replaced, the radiator was leaking fluid at a slow dripping pace. From looking at the radiator, you could see fluid was saturated throughout the middle of the radiator from left to right. At this point, we're still under warranty. So we bring the vehicle back to Meineke in Pineville la, dropped it off, and told them about the saturation in the radiator exterior. We get a call to come pick it up soon after. The owner/manager stated that we had a faulty radiator cap and they replaced it. Strange for a radiator cap to cause that kind of result......
They do an alright job on oil changes and other services however, I think they are expensive. They offer coupons in the mail, e-mail, and on their website for discount services however they don't honor them. I am also a member of their car care club which I was getting discounts for years. They told me that they do not honor any discounts anymore weather you are a member or not because they were losing money. So if you don't care about saving a little money, then this Meineke is okay however, there are many other places near there that are much cheaper for the same reliable services.
