Richard at the visitor center was amazing. His care for the fort's history and the civil war made this a great trip. This is a great place to spend an afternoon, bring kids for picnic, or to expierence the rich local civil war history.
They run a Christmas program here that is pretty good.
This is a great state historic site to take the family. Good museum with a friendly and knowledgeable staff.
This is a history lesson. It is awesome and intriguing. There's a 20 minute or so film that is a must see with regard to the forts! Definitely a must do if you're a history buff or a teacher of Louisiana studies.
