This is located in an active military post, so civilians like myself cannot walk around unattended, so if there is not one available to tend to the museum, then it is not open. So just be aware of hours, and any other scheduling changes before going.

Loved this museum! There was a new exhibit going up when myself and a friend arrived, and the man putting it together was extremely knowledgable. He took us through the permanent collection and we got an amazing history lesson. There are awesome models, uniforms, flags, documents, and more. And admission is FREE! If you're into US history, or military history then this is the place for you!
Free museum. Wide range of artifacts. The main topic was on the Lousiana Maneuvers, a little known subject. The curator was on hand to give tours, if wanted, free of charge.
